The days when Sivir was the best ADC in League of Legends are long gone. She hasn’t been a meta pick in a very long time and her playstyle doesn’t really fit the current meta. But with a full lethality build, Sivir is still able to carry games without even in high elo.

So in this post, I’ll go over everything you need to know about playing lethality Sivir. I’ll explain why you need to prioritize certain runes and items over others. And I’ll also tell you why the lethality build is overall better than the traditional ADC build for Sivir.

So without further ado, here’s why you should play lethality Sivir!

Why Lethality Sivir is so Good

lethality Sivir team fight

The lethality build has been a meta build for Sivir for a very long time. This is because the playstyle offers so much damage and safety that fits much better with the overall meta of League of Legends.

First of all, lethality Sivir focuses on dealing poke damage from afar. For this, Sivir has her Q – Boomerang Blade. This is a 2-3 second cooldown ability that damages all enemies in a chosen direction.

Boomerang Blade is a great spell because it deals damage twice – the first time it hits an enemy target and when it travels back to Sivir. It also does much more damage to a single enemy which makes it possible for Sivir to one-shot an opposing champion from 50 or 60% HP.

Next, the lethality playstyle for Sivir is fantastic because it makes her laning phase and late game team fighting much safer. This is because Sivir doesn’t need to enter an auto-attack range in order to deal damage. She can comfortably poke from range and remain safe throughout the fight.

The lethality items in League of Legends also counter tanks. So, Sivir is a great champion to pick against tanky team compositions. You can basically shred any target with high armor as long as you build lethality and spam your Q.

And finally, lethality Sivir just deals so much more damage than the traditional ADC Sivir. And even though there are tons of crit and attack speed builds for Sivir, it’s much safer for you to just play lethality Sivir.

For comparison, I recommend checking out this YouTube video. It’s an older video but the information is still relevant.

Lethality Sivir Runes for Season 13

lethality Sivir runes
  • Dark Harvest
  • Cheap Shot
  • Eyeball Collection
  • Ultimate Hunter
  • Manaflow Band
  • Transcendence

DARK HARVEST is the best keystone for increasing your power on any champion in the game, including Sivir. It’s a scaling rune that allows you to become stronger the longer the match goes on.

Dark Harvest works with soul stacks. You collect stacks by striking an enemy champion when they’re on low health (they glow with red). Each soul stack increases your damage done the next time you hit an opposing champion on low health. And this can go up to infinity!

CHEAP SHOT is an interesting rune that adds a lot of value to your build. It grants a bit of bonus true damage when you damage an enemy champion that is already in crowd control.

Now, Sivir doesn’t have any CC in her kit. However, you’ll be building Serylda’s Grudge, an item that adds a slow effect to your abilities. And once you have it, your Q will start to do more damage overall.

Also, almost all support champions in League of Legends have CC, so you’re all good.

EYEBALL COLLECTION is a great rune if you don’t want to bother with vision. It passively increases your AD as you slay enemy champions. When fully stacked, this rune gives you 18 attack damage, which is really good.

ULTIMATE HUNTER is here to reduce the cooldown of Sivir’s ultimate ability – On the Hunt. This is such a helpful spell for your entire team because you can use it for either engaging or disengaging.

Since Sivir doesn’t have dashes and jumps, you’ll need On the Hunt for fighting, kiting, or escaping the battlefield. And Ultimate Hunter helps with that.

MANAFLOW BAND is another great rune to pick up on lethality Sivir. It increases your maximum mana by 25 when you hit an enemy champion with an ability. And it’s really easy to stack it if you keep poking your enemies with Sivir’s Q during the laning phase.

Manaflow Band is fully stacked when you get 250 bonus mana from it. Once that happens, the rune continues to regenerate 1% of your missing mana for the rest of the game.

TRANSCENDENCE is also a key rune for succeeding with lethality Sivir. First of all, it grants 10 ability haste for free. But also, Transcendence resets 20% of the cooldown on your basic abilities upon a champion takedown.

This simply means that you’ll get to use Sivir’s Q much more often in a team fight. And that fits very well with the whole poking/lethality playstyle.

Lethality Sivir Items for Season 13

lethality Sivir items
  • Ionian Boots of Lucidity
  • Manamune / Muramana
  • Duskblade of Draktharr
  • The Collector
  • Serylda’s Grudge
  • Chempunk Chainsword

IONIAN BOOTS OF LUCIDITY are the best boots for lethality Sivir. We already talked that the majority of your damage will come from your Boomerang Balde. Well, Ionian Boots of Lucidity grant so much ability haste for such a cheap price, so you’ll want them as early as possible.

MANAMUNE / MURAMANA is the item you need to get first. This also means that you need to start each game of lethality Sivir with Tear of the Goddess instead of a Doran’s Blade. The extra mana is a must because you’ll need to spam Qs throughout the match.

Manamune also grants ability haste and attack damage. And you can quickly stack it so it transforms to Muramana.

DUSKBLADE OF DRAKTHARR is your mythic item for playing lethality Sivir. There’s nothing lacking in this item. It offers AD, lethality, cooldown reduction, and a passive effect that’s essential for a non-mobile champion.

Duskblade allows you to deal extra damage the first time you strike an enemy champion. However, it also places you in invisibility for 1.5 seconds upon a champion takedown. So it’s perfect for Sivir!

THE COLLECTOR is the perfect item for improving your KDA and slaying more enemy champions overall. Aside from the AD and lethality, The Collector executes a target if you damage them below 5% HP.

And it’s crucial for preventing opponents to run away on low health.

SERYLDA’S GRUDGE is another key item you need for lethality Sivir. It adds a ton of armor penetration and makes it possible for you to shred tanks with a few Qs.

However, Serylda’s Grudge also provides you with slow effect. This helps your teammates too, especially when you’re against mobile champions such as Hecarim, Udyr, or Zeri.

CHEMPUNK CHAINSWORD is the final item you need to complete the lethality Sivir build. Not only does it give you damage and ability haste, but it also counters healing champions.

With this item, Sivir’s Q will spread Grevious Wounds on your target. This can significantly reduce their healing from all sources, so you can slay them more easily.

Optional and Situational Items for Lethality Sivir

There are tons of great situational items for lethality Sivir.

First of all, Guardian Angel can be a great defensive item in LoL, especially when you play an ADC against assassins

Serpent’s Fang is a great item for countering shields in League of Legends. And Edge of Night will give you another spell shield to annoy your opponents.

Is Eclipse also good on Sivir?

Hell yeah! Eclipse is an excellent mythic item for Sivir because she can proc its passive very easily (Q + AA). Eclipse allows Sivir to deal more damage to tanky champions and have more defensiveness during combat.

Ability Order and Summoner’s Spells for Lethality Sivir

When it comes to maxing out your abilities on Sivir, the Q always comes first. Then, you should max out your E because it’s such a useful ability to have. And you can max your W last because you don’t build too much.

Here’s the best ability order for lethality Sivir.

And for Summoner’s Spells, the best combination is Flash + Heal. However, sometimes you can switch Heal for an Exhaust or a Barrier, depending on the current matchup.

How Do You Beat Lethality Sivir?

If you’ve closely read all the strengths of lethality Sivir, you can probably guess what her weaknesses are. In other words, if you really want to counter lethality Sivir, it’s best to not allow her to play to those strengths.

For example, lethality Sivir is all about dealing damage with Q. So, if you can dodge the Boomerang Blade, lethality Sivir can’t be a huge threat to you.

Another way to counter this is by building a lot of health and armor. Yes, Sivir’s build has a lot of armor penetration. However, the tankier you are the less likely it is for her to one-shot you.

And finally, the best way to beat lethality Sivir is to not let her use Q. This can be either by playing assassins and trying to execute Sivir every team fight. Or simply position better in a fight and shut her down early.

That’s how you beat lethality Sivir.

Conclusion

Lethality Sivir is one of my favorite builds in the entire League of Legends. I love all poking playstyles and lethality Sivir is among the strongest ones. Sniping enemies and one-shotting them with one ability is tons of fun, so I recommend this build to everyone!
