The InSec Lee Sin kick is one of the hardest things you can do in League of Legends. It’s also one of the most powerful ways to set up a team fight and one of the most visually pleasing moves anyone can execute in the game.

But how do you actually do InSec kicks on Lee Sin?

In this post, I’ll do my best to teach you how to perform the Lee Sin InSec kick in League of Legends.

I’ll separate the move into small parts and talk about each movement and click you need to do in order to successfully InSec kick someone with Lee Sin.

But let me be clear. Learning how to do InSec kicks with Lee Sin is not going to be easy. It actually takes a long time to master this move and that should be plainly obvious to everyone.

However, it is possible to learn how to do the InSec kick today. By following my steps, I promise that you’ll be able to InSec kick the target dummies in the Practice Tool after a few minutes.

It will take much practice to do the same in a live game, but you’ll be happy to keep practicing.

So if you trust me, let’s start working on your InSec Lee Sin kicks.

What is “InSec Kick” on Lee Sin?

The general idea of the InSec Lee Sin kick is simple – kick a target in a surprising manner by combining Lee Sin’s Q, W, R, and a ward.

It’s when Lee Sin dashes to an enemy champion, places a ward behind them, dashes to that ward, and uses R to kick that enemy back to his team.

There are many advantages of doing the inSec kick in a live game, so let’s start with the obvious ones.

The InSec kick sets up a perfect team fighting situation for your team. By doing this move on the enemy ADC or mid laner, you essentially eliminate the biggest threat from your opponents.

Once your target is kicked to your team, your allies are free to quickly assassinate them.

The kicked enemy champion is away from his teammates and can’t be protected if your team is quick enough to use what you’ve given them.

For example, if Lee Sin InSec kicks the enemy Varus, his Lulu support can’t always reach and protect Varus in time.

A Lee Sin player that has perfected the InSec kick is always a huge threat to his enemies. This is because he can always surprise you by doing the kick from different angles.

And unless you have Flash, there’s almost nothing you can do to stop him.

The InSec kick was named after Choi “Insec” In-Seok, a South Korean jungler that showed us the light during the Season 3 All-Star Tournament.

In one game, he successfully kicked back the enemy ADC to his team with innovative and amazing ward jumping and single-handedly won the team fight.

No one is sure whether InSec actually came up with this Lee Sin move but since he did it on such a big stage, the move was named after him.

Nowadays the InSec kick represents skill, dedication, and mastery over the champion. Lee Sin is naturally one of the hardest champions in League of Legends and this move proves that.

How to Do Lee Sin InSec Kicks – Step by Step

YFirst, aim your Q at your target and reactivate it to start dashing.

Second, you need to place a ward behind them while dashing and use Lee’s W to dash to the ward instead.

And third, use Lee Sin’s R to kick back your target.

The problem with this explanation is that the move sounds way easier than it actually is. Everybody can understand how the move is done but not everybody’s fingers can do it live in a game.

So, here’s what you need to do. Follow these instructional steps in order to successfully do the Lee Sin InSec kick in LoL!

STEP 1: Activate Quick Cast in Your Settings.

Frankly speaking, the Lee Sin InSec move cannot be done without the Quick Cast settings.

They allow you to instantly activate all of your abilities, including wards. And this is very important for Lee Sin and the ward jumping.

If you aren’t currently using Quick Cast, it may take some time to get used to it. But I really urge you to stick to these settings if you want to learn the InSec move.

STEP 2: Aim Lee Sin’s Q – Sonic Wave and make sure you’re in range for reactivating it.

This ability is a skill shot and it’s not always easy to hit, especially against high elo opponents.

Working on your general aim in League of Legends can help you hit more Qs, as well as doing a warm-up before the game.

On the other hand, many players run away when they’re hit by Lee Sin’s Q. The ability has a decent range, but make sure your target is inside the indicator before you press Q again.

STEP 3: Move your mouse behind your target and wait for Lee Sin’s Q animation to be almost finished.

This and Step 4 are the most difficult ones in this whole process. It’s tricky to follow Lee’s dashing and move your mouse behind the enemy champion at the same time.

However, what you need to do here is move your camera quickly enough. You want to wait with your mouse for the animation of your Q rather than do it after the animation is done.

STEP 4: Place a ward at the current location of your mouse (ideally behind your target) when Lee Sin comes in range.

For most players, this is the toughest part to perform. But the reason why they fail is that they don’t know the exact range of the ward/trinket.

To do this successfully, you need to place the ward just before Lee Sin hits the target or as soon as he does.

You don’t have much time here, so it’s important to be very quick and do an accurate estimate of whether you have enough range for a ward placement.

One tip that can help you out is to put the ward closer to the enemy champion. Just keep your cursor closer to your target and don’t put it miles away.

This will guarantee that you can place a ward as soon as Lee Sin’s Q animation ends.

Step 5: Use Lee Sin’s W – Safeguard to jump to the ward and appear behind your target.

Once you have your ward or a trinket behind your target, don’t move your mouse and just press W on your keyboard. This will help you activate Lee’s W as soon as possible.

Steps 4 and 5 should be almost done simultaneously, so having good mechanics in League of Legends will help out a lot.

Another thing that’s helpful is to have your ward or trinket on a button that’s easily accessible to you at all times.

Personally, I use “4” for my trinket and “3” for my regular ward. This allows me quickly press “4-W” or “3-W” with my pointer finger and middle finger.

Step 6: Use Lee Sin’s R – Dragon’s Rage on your target to kick them in the opposite direction.

This is the easiest step in the whole process. Once you stand behind your target, simply press your R button and the job is done.

Lee Sin’s ultimate is a point-click ability, so you don’t have to worry about missing it.

Sometimes your enemies might use Flash or similar moves to change the trajectory of your R.

And that’s normal in League of Legends. Don’t get frustrated because your cooldowns for doing the InSec move on Lee Sin are significantly shorter than that of Flash.

So, you can try it again next time you have your ulti available.

Conclusion

Congratulations on doing your InSec Lee Sin kick in League of Legends! As I mentioned above, this is one of the hardest moves to do in this game and it takes a lot of practice.

But if you become quick enough, sometimes you’ll do the InSec move before Lee Sin actually reaches the target, so you won’t even deal damage with his Q.

However, being this fast also means that your enemies won’t have enough time to react, guaranteeing you great InSec kicks!

As for InSec himself, he doesn’t play League of Legends professionally anymore. He retired back in 2019 but he still plays solo queue occasionally.
