If you are tired of League of Legends and want to move on to other enterprises, deleting your account is a good way to go.

But doing so will make it impossible for you to give in to your impulses and return to the game, which many of us do eventually.

However, if you’ve firmly decided that you no longer want to play LoL, I’m here to help you out.

In this post, I will guide you through canceling,  deactivating, and deleting your account so you can get it done as quickly as possible.

Deleting Your League of Legends Account – Method 1

Method 1 of Deleting Your LoL Account

To delete a League of Legends account, you must delete your entire Riot Games account. This means that all your accounts on games, such as Valorant, TFT, Wild Rift, and others, will also have to go.

Another important thing to know is that once your Riot account is deleted, there is no going back. You will never be able to access the data associated with it again.

If all these things are acceptable to you, we can proceed with the deletion of your Riot Games account.

Here are the steps you need to take in order to delete your League of Legends account:

  1. Press this link to go to the Riot account deletion page.
  2. Press the red log-in button found in the middle of the page.
  3. Riot will ask you to confirm you are the owner of the account, press yes.
  4. Riot will now list all the games associated with the Riot Account, and ask you to confirm the deletion, press yes.

Once you are done with all these steps, Riot will schedule your account for deletion and the account will be permanently deleted in 30 days.

Deleting Your League of Legends Account – Method 2

Method 2 of Deleting Your LoL Account

In case something went wrong, and you weren’t able to fully delete your account, there is another solution. This second method consists of contacting Riot Support and it will guarantee your account gets deleted.

Here is how to delete your account with the help of Riot Support.

  1. First, we will need to go to Riot’s ticket page using this link.
  2. Click on the request form found in the middle of the page.
  3. Select the “Account Management, Data Requests, or Deletion” request type.
  4. Type out “Account Deletion” as the subject line.
  5. Add this information to the description: Account name, Summoner name, Account creation date, location of origin for the account (city, country), and the first email address used to verify the account.
  6. There will be a region field, here you will simply add the region you are playing in (euw, kr, ru, etc.)
  7. In the inquiry selection, select “Account Deletion.”

I Changed My Mind: How to Cancel the Deletion?

As you know, canceling of League of Legends account deletion is impossible after 30 days had passed. This is because Riot deletes all account information from its servers.

If you, however, come to regret your decision before the 30-day mark, there is an option to cancel the deletion.

The option will come in a form of a link in the deletion confirmation email. So if you choose to stop account deletion, just go back to that email and click the link with it.

If for whatever reason, the link is not working, you can always contact Riot support and have them stop the deletion of your account.

How to Deactivate League of Legends Account Instead?

LoL Account Deactivation

Deactivating your LoL account is good when you want to take a break from the game. It will make it less likely to play on impulse because it will require much more effort to log in to the account.

To start deactivating your League of Legends account click this link and follow these steps again:

  1. Click on the request form found in the middle of the page.
  2. Select “Account Managment, Data Requests, or Deletion” request type.

  4. Add this information to description: Account name, Summoner name, Account creation date, location of origin for the account (city, country), and the first email address used to verify the account.

Consider Selling Your Account

There is another option that comes to mind when it comes to getting rid of your LoL account, and that is selling the account.

This can be seen as a good and a bad thing. Some people will be happy to receive at least some compensation for their efforts, while some would be insulted by the selling prices.

The accounts will usually be worth their price in rank, meaning the rank is the most important variable.

Platinum accounts will go for around $20-40, Diamond $50-80, Master $100+, and Challenger $500-2000. If you are one of the worst players, you can make some money too, because Iron 4 accounts are near the Diamond account range, usually $10 cheaper.

If you’re interested in this, here I have a step-by-step guide on how to sell your LoL account so you can do that instead.

Conclusion

Deleting a League of Legends account is a great way to quit the game especially if you found quitting difficult in the past. You can do so by using Riot’s website filling out a form, or by submitting a ticket.

If you are not sure about deletion, and just want your account to be less accessible, you can deactivate it indefinitely.

And another way of making your account inaccessible is to simply sell it.
