How to Create, Edit, and Publish an Episode for Your Podcast with Your Alitu
1. Record a New Episode
- To create an audio recording for your show, you need to use the “record a call” feature.
- Click on “Record Call” on the left side of your Alitu dashboard. A pop-up will come to the browser asking you to allow access to your microphone. Click on “Allow”.
- On the window on your left, provide your screen name and choose your microphone from the drop-down menu.
- If you are doing a solo recording, click on the “Start” button to start your recording. Otherwise, click on “Invite People” to generate unique links for your guests or co-host to join the recording. Copy the link provided and send it to the guest or co-host. Once they have joined the recording session, click on the “Start” button to start recording.
- There is a call chat box that you can use to message your co-host or guest as the recording session is ongoing.
- If need be, you can mute yourself during the session by clicking on the purple microphone symbol. You can also lock the recording session to keep other people from joining if people other than your guests for the particular show have the call session link.
- Once you finish recording, click on “End call”. Your audio files will be processed and added to your Alitu library. You can then add the episode in the episode builder to create a new episode for your show.
2. Create a New Episode Page
First, set up the episode details. Click on the “Add Episode” link and fill in the following details:
- Episode name
- Episode number (optional)
- Hostname (optional)
- Episode description (optional)
Then click on “Save Details” to complete setting up the episode.
3. Upload Your Audio Recording
If you already have an audio recording from a different platform, drag and drop it from your computer to the upload window. If you have recorded your episode on Alitu, upload it from your library.
Alitu allows you to upload split audio recordings too. Upload all the relevant split recordings if they are synchronized, and then link them. To do so, click on the link icon on each uploaded split file. The icon should turn purple.
